Barbour Dental Care is an independently owned practice focused on providing high quality continuing care.You can choose NHS or private treatment either pay as you go or pay monthly We are a very experienced team of Dentists ,Nurses and Practice Administrator. The practice principals- Dr Ian Barbour BDS (Edinburgh) Dr Joan Barbour BDS (Edinburgh) Ian Barbour has a special interest in dental implants and advanced surgical techniques. Associate dentist- Mr Jan Lauckner BDS (Liverpool) The practice has the most up to date facilities incorporating modern comfortable treatment rooms with digital x-ray facilities and intra-oral cameras which can help you visualise the problem areas the dentist has identified. There is a large comfortable waiting room with a wall mounted TV to help you relax and a children’s area -complete with Lego table. All our Dental Nurses are fully qualified and registered with the GDC. We have the highest possible infection control equipment located within the practice in our Local Decontamination Unit (LDU) which ensures you are treated safely. Appointments are available Monday to Friday and we ask that you give us 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or change your appointment. As a courtesy we can remind you of your appointments by email or text. NHS /Private fees are listed at reception and patients who join our Practice Plan benefit from a 20% reduction in private fees. Please ask reception about our Practice Plan. The practice is situated on a corner of a busy main road (A701) on bus routes 3, 31,7,8 Parking is free in Ventnor Terrace (one side ) with the exception of the area marked ‘permit holders only’ where parking is not permitted between 10am and 11.30am. Parking on Mayfield Gardens is available outwith bus lane restriction times. Outwith working hours, our registered patients can be seen as an emergency at the Chalmers Dental Centre in Lauriston Place. Please phone the normal practice number for advice out with normal hours.
